Troubleshooting the Tracked AI connector

Answers to the problems people most often hit after connecting Tracked to ChatGPT or Claude: what you see, why it happens, and what to do. If you haven't connected yet, start with the setup guide.

The assistant is connected but says there's no data

Why it happens: Each summary covers only the period the assistant asked about, and only what reached Tracked during it. If you didn't complete a workout, log a meal, weigh in, or record a night's sleep in that period, there is nothing to summarize. Check-ins appear only once a coach schedules them, and resting heart rate and heart-rate variability come only from a connected device or health app.

What to do: Log the activity in the Tracked app, or ask about a period when you did. If your data comes from a wearable or health app, open the Tracked app so the latest days sync. You can also ask the assistant which data Tracked has for you: your profile summary lists each category and the most recent date it holds.

A figure is missing instead of showing zero

Why it happens: Tracked keeps the two apart on purpose. A missing (null) value means Tracked couldn't read that source for this answer; a zero means Tracked read it and found nothing in the period. Averages cover only the days you logged, so a day you didn't log is never counted as zero.

What to do: If a value is missing, ask again in a few minutes, and contact support if it stays missing. A zero reflects what you logged in that period.

The assistant won't give a weekly bodyweight rate or a heart-rate trend

Why it happens: Tracked withholds a trend it can't support yet instead of guessing, and marks it as insufficient. A weekly bodyweight rate needs at least 8 weigh-ins spread over at least 21 days within the period asked about, so a one-week question never gets one. Resting heart rate and heart-rate variability (SDNN or RMSSD, depending on the source) are compared with your own baseline only when both windows have enough days recorded by the same source.

What to do: Ask about a longer period and keep weighing in regularly. For heart-rate trends, keep recording with the same device or health app. An insufficient trend doesn't mean nothing changed, only that there isn't enough data to state one yet.

The assistant can't give you a readiness, recovery, or strain score

Why it happens: Tracked doesn't compute one, and the connector doesn't pass on scores from wearables. It shares your sleep, resting heart rate, and heart-rate variability against your own baseline instead.

What to do: Ask about your sleep, resting heart rate, or heart-rate variability over a recent period. Summaries describe patterns in your logged data and are informational, not medical advice.

The assistant says the requested period is too long

Why it happens: Each summary has a maximum period: 30 days for the overview, 180 days for bodyweight, and 90 days for training, nutrition, check-ins, and sleep and recovery. A comparison with the previous period reads both periods, so each can be at most half the maximum. Tracked refuses a longer request rather than quietly shortening it.

What to do: Ask again with a shorter period, such as the last 30 days.

The assistant says the request wasn't authorized

Why it happens: Tracked gives the same answer whenever this connection isn't allowed to read something, for example after it was disconnected, or when the categories you approved don't cover what was asked for. It isn't a sign that your data is missing.

What to do: Remove Tracked from the assistant's connector settings, connect it again, and review the categories on Tracked's approval screen before you approve. Your data in Tracked isn't affected.

The connection stopped working or the assistant asks you to sign in again

Why it happens: The assistant renews its access automatically, but the connection ends if you disconnect it in Tracked, if it goes unused for an extended period, or if Tracked sees the same sign-in token used twice and ends the connection to protect your account.

What to do: Disconnect Tracked in the assistant, connect it again, and sign in to Tracked. If it keeps happening, contact support.

The assistant says Tracked couldn't complete the request, or that there were too many requests

Why it happens: Either a temporary problem on Tracked's side or too many requests in a short time. No data is returned in either case, and neither message says anything about whether your data exists.

What to do: Wait a moment and ask again. If it keeps happening, contact support.

The assistant can't see your photos, messages, coach notes, or another member's data

Why it happens: That's expected. The connector reads only the categories listed in the setup guide, and only for your own account. Photos, videos, messages, coach notes, and free-text check-in answers are never shared, and there's no way to look up another athlete or client.

What to do: Ask about your own training, nutrition, bodyweight, check-in scores, or sleep and recovery instead. Everything else stays in the Tracked app.

You can't find Tracked in ChatGPT's app directory

Why it happens: Tracked's ChatGPT app is still awaiting approval in the app directory, so it isn't listed yet.

What to do: In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode and add https://mcp.tracked.training/mcp as a custom connector, then sign in to Tracked and approve read-only access. In Claude, Tracked is already listed in Claude's connector directory.

You want to disconnect Tracked

Why it happens: A connection stays active until you end it, and you can end it at any time.

What to do: Open Settings → AI connectors in the Tracked dashboard and disconnect it there; new requests stop immediately. You can also remove Tracked from the assistant's own app or connector settings.
